Earlier this year, I had the chance to experience my first time staying in the French alps.
No better place for this than to stay in the coziest hotel : Les Barmes de l’Ours.

The mountain views are simply stunning and make you want to jump outside to go on the slopes. But the snow & the cold also makes you want to stay inside, by the fireplace & enjoy a nice warm drink. Or run to the spa?

There are 3 restaurants in Les Barmes de l’Ours :
La Table de l’Ours
La Rotisserie
Le Coin Savoyard.
These last two are more relaxed and serve great comfort local food : cheese dishes (Raclette & Fondue), spit-roasted meat & à la carte choices for everyone’s taste.
La Table de l’Ours is an experience in itself. This fantastic restaurant offers different menus (“Essences of Winter”, “Tasting” menu & “Flavours” menu) and all of them will blow your mind. By the fireplace, you can enjoy a great French meal, while admiring the mountains outside the window.

VAL D’ISERE
Les Barmes de l’Ours is located in the heart of Val d’Isère, in the Savoie department. Known for its fantastic ski area, Val d’Isere is the place to be in the winter. I had never been in the alps, but even I had heard about Val d’Isère. Walk around the village & admire the adorable chalets. Go ski & stand at the top of the mountains. You can’t be bored for sure there.
